The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world – so when they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. There’s not supposed to be biting, or cigar-smoking in Bethlehem, and while these kids have never even heard the Christmas story, they definitely have rewrites! Soon, everyone is calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to cancel the whole thing. it’s up to the Bradleys to help their community see the Christmas story and the Herdman kids through new eyes in this buoyant musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic.

Fiddler on the Roof Jr.

The special adaptation of the nine-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Fiddler on the Roof Jr. follows Tevye the milkman as he tries to protect his five daughters and his way of life from a changing world. The play deals with the universal theme of tradition in ways that reach across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion. This production is sure to delight audiences with its poignant music and its endearing characters.

Matilda Jr.

Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the “revolting children” who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.

A Christmas Carol

The Musical

Jump into the Christmas spirit with an original STT musical adaptation of the beloved Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol. Follow the greedy Ebenezer Scrooge as his heart is softened through his magical encounters with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. This tale is sure to touch the heart and inspire us all to give and love in the true spirit of Christmas.

Come and enjoy your favourite songs with our children’s ensemble cast, representing communities from all over south-east Calgary. Immerse yourself in the imagination and wonder of live theatre. Celebrate with the munchkins, dance with the Jitterbugs, and revel with the citizens of Emerald City as they all become a part of this incredible adventure… but WATCH OUT for flying monkeys!

Annie Jr.

With equal measure of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in the 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

The Trials of Alice in Wonderland

Based on two of the greatest works in children’s literature, this fast-paced and witty show is set in Wonderland’s courtroom, where Alice is on trail. The Queen of Hearts is the judge, the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, and Caterpillar are witnesses, and the jury is a deck of cards! Poor Alice must try to prove her innocence by re-living the events of the adventures we’ve all come to love.

Mamas Quilt

An original musical written for Small Time Theatre! In an attempt to help their Mama win first place in a quilting contest and provide them with new dresses, four sisters come up with a plan involving the whole community. Along the way, the girls learn that some things are more important than new dresses.
